As neutrals we have really enjoyed watching Hull play this season. Despite never being too many points above the drop zone Steve Bruce has got his boys playing football with a real joy and freedom – the way the game should be played.
Tom Huddlestone has obviously been a fantastic signing for the club and has proved a catalyst for the rest of this impressive Hull side. They had another good win in the cup at the weekend but the emphasis this season will surely be on maintaining their Premier League status.
To that end goals win games and Hull need more of them. They have 22 in The Prem this season and you would imagine that Brucey will be looking to bring in more firepower in the winter window.
One player who has been linked to Hull in recent times is Celtic striker Georgios Samaras. The Greek international, who has 70 caps to his name (8 goals) can look a bit sluggish and leggy at times but he has down well at Celtic and certainly seems to have the requisite physicality to be a decent Premier League number 10.
His first spell in England, with Manchester City, wasn’t an overwhelming success but he’s bagged a decent 45 goals in 148 games up in Scotland. At 28 he still has lead in the pencil and we think that he might be a good addition to the Hull squad for the second half of the season.
Bookmakers SkyBet have opened a market on the player moving clubs in January and Hull have been made favourites, at odds of 5/1 to sign the player in the window.
Let’s see the guy in action. Hull fans – does Samaras boil your potatoes?
