Despite a couple of narrow defeats to their title rivals over the last week Liverpool remain a team that is unquestionably on the up. While it’s currently difficult to see how David Moyes is improving Manchester United you could argue that Brendan Rodgers has coached improvement into virtually all of his players – even Luis Suarez has improved under the Irishman.
But the strength of Liverpool’s bench over recent weeks has told the true story about the depth of the squad. We would be very surprised if Liverpool didn’t invest in the January window and he may well look for more threat in the attacking third.
One of the better players that has been mentioned in relation to a Liverpool move is Barcelona’s forward Pedro. He’s been at Barcelona for his entire career but has never seemed completely happy with his role as a squad player. With stats of 47 goals in 148 games from a wide position it’s easy to see why. Pedro is a player of top quality, who has represented the world champions Spain on 37 occasions, scoring 13 times in the process.
At 26 he may decide that the time is right for a move. Liverpool are favourites with bookmaker SkyBet to sign the player in January. At odds of 5/1 Liverpool are apparently ahead of Arsenal in the pecking order for his signature.
If Rodgers does want to invest this January it would be difficult to find better available talent than this lad. Let’s see him in action.
