Hull to sign a star in January – report

Steve Bruce has always struck us as a loyal type. Someone who likes to take the blame on behalf of his players and would rarely speak out to criticise one of his own.

Hull have been performing well of late but you would imagine that they will look to seriously strengthen again in the winter window in order to avoid the dreaded drop. Accordingly, Steve Bruce is rumoured to be interested in signing one of his old players for Hull.

Seb Larsson started out at Arsenal and as had stints at several clubs, but never really settled, despite his great talent. He has 62 caps for the Sweden national side and, at 28, he’s at the peak of his powers.

The Mirror today suggests that Larsson may be a target for Hull in the winter window.

Steve Bruce wants to sign Seb Larsson for a THIRD time and is eyeing up a £5million swoop for the Sunderland midfielder in January.

Hull boss Bruce is keen to add Larsson to his squad to boost the Tigers’ Premier League survival chances.

And he also sees the Swedish international midfielder as the ideal replacement for Jake Livermore, should Tottenham chief Andre-Villas Boas recall the 24-year-old early from a season-long loan deal to the Humberside outfit.

Larsson is out of contract in June so January is that last time that Sunderland can get a fee for him, should they decide to sell. We think that he would be an excellent addition for the club and Steve Bruce always seems to get the best out of the player. He’s a creator and a goalscorer who would slot into the midfield without too much fuss.

Let’s take a look at him in action. Hull fans, do you think Larsson would improve the first team?
