There have been a few signings by Brendan Rodgers that are yet to make the grade at Liverpool.
But when you look at the impact made by Liverpool’s two major signings, over the last year, then you realise that the manager definitely has a very good eye for a player.
Philippe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge have been on fire since they joined the club and have turned Liverpool into a completely different prospect going forward.
You would have to say that both of these players would get into virtually every other team in The Premier League on form. Sturridge seems to be scoring every week at the moment and Coutinho has come back well from injury.
Another player who Rodgers tried to sign in the summer, but failed, is Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa.
Liverpool put in a reported £20m+ bid for the player but his club would not let him go.
Last seaoson Costa wasn’t a prolific goalscorer. But Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers obviously saw that this was simply a case of immaturity. This season the player has lit up La Liga and was only eclipsed in the goalscoring charts for the first time last weekend by Cristiano Ronaldo of Real Madrid. He currently has 15 in 15 for his club.
If the Liverpool boss can keep signing players of this level then the Reds can only go one way.
Let’s have a look at Costa’s goals for Atletico Madrid this season and Liverpool fans can have a look at what they would a won.

Sturridge and Coutinho won’t win us anything, look at the players he could’nt get last summer, Mhkytarian, Costa and Willian. Any manager can have an eye for a player and not get him. Most of Rodgers signings have been, well, useless to us. He has been lucky to have Suarez ( Kennys signing ), otherwise he would have been gone by now.
