Dortmund

Agent reveals talks for £35m United target

It’s coming into silly season and Manchester United fans will be feverishly leafing through the sports pages each day for news of signings.

One of the main men in the shop window for Europe’s elite clubs this summer is Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski. The prolific Pole seemed nailed on for a move to Manchester United a year ago and even a couple of weeks back Sir Fergie suggested that the club were still interested in his services. Surely, opined the Scot, SURELY Bayern Munchen wouldn’t steal Lewandowski as well as the recently signed Mario Gotze, from their closest rivals?

But, in a second piece of seemingly suicidal business by Borussia, it now appears that they are also selling their other best player to Bayern this summer. We know that money talks, but this transfer seems a little crazy, even by modern standards. Bayern are not only strengthening their Champions League winning squad but, in so doing, weakening their closest competitors for The Bundesliga. You would imagine that, given the choice, Dortmund would have sold Robert Lewandowski to Manchester United, but recent comments from the agent of the striker suggest that the deal to take him to Munchen is not far off.

The Guardian cites the agent of Lewandowski, Cezary Kucharski:

“For us it is clear, but we have not signed anything,”
“The clubs need to reach an agreement.”

The report goes on to say that the agent reckons a deal will be in place within 3 weeks.

However, in a glimmer of hope for Dortmund fans, manager Jurgen Klopp today told Bild:

“As of today there is no official offer from Bayern Munich. I am still assuming that Robert will be playing next season for us. We will try to ensure in the coming days that a line is drawn with regards to the speculation.”

So, Manchester United fans, should David Moyes pull out all the stops to snare Lewandowski from under the noses of Bayern? And do Manchester United need him anyway?

No player is bigger than the club and to me i think united need robbert lewandwoski b’se no club can afford to work with a player that is always setting his mind on the move away from the club. Let see rooney of united and we buy lew, fellani, cesc, modric and luke shaw and united will reign in europe again.

Hahahaha. Do u learn how football works from your grandmother ? Lew , fab , Fellini , shaw and modric? LOL . It’s that easy isn’t it . Lets just go spend an easy 100m. Hahahahaha, if klopp read this comment he’d laugh for days . Son , it isn’t only big players that make teams . Look at Madrid , pathetic shitty team , a joke if u ask me . nd believe me their fans get all the signings they want . Unless ofcourse ud like modric Fellini shaw and cesc to be first choice mids and cleverly carick can just warm the bench right ? U want a striker when we don’t even have a proper left winger . If , Nd it’s virtually possible , all united need to do is buy strootman and reus and we won’t only compete we’ll be one of Europes scariest oppositions , but I’m guessing u haven’t watched more that 10 mins of strootman playing . Hahahahahha I cannot believe this comment , u literally called out 3 players that play in the same position , and u obviously want cleverly never to wear a united jersey again I assume ? Hmmm, idea , go and become a wealthy Arab sheikh , the spend 100s of millions , and go eff some other team up alright then son ? =)

As for you my boy , go and find another club to support . Fuck Rooney ? LOL !!!!!!! Rvp never ever performs well in European events , fact . Rvp has done very little for his country , fact . Rvp is not even Hollands first choice striker , fact . Hunterlaar , so underrated its almost shameful , is . This decision is made by a great great manager , Louis van gaal , fact . Rvp has had only to seasons in his career where he has scored over 20 goals in all completions , I don’t care if he was injured , that sure as hell doesn’t mean he wudve been consistent had he not been . Wayne Rooney is a better box player than rvp says football expert Andy Townsend , fact . Wayne Rooney asked for a transfer request in 2010 rightfully questioning club ambitions as we embarked on fielding very possibly the weakest united squad of the last 2 decades , fans wanted signings that season too , did we get any ? Ofcourse not . Did Wayne Rooney carry united to the champions league final , an FA cup semi and a premier league title that season ? With a golden boot, he sure did . 2012, we lose to city on goal difference, united again accused of fielding the weakest squad of the past 2 decades , filled to the brim with youth . Wayne Rooney scored 27 league goals that season second only to rvp who had a much much better attacking midfield to aid him, FACT.2013, Wayne Rooney gets dropped from the strikers role and starts filling gaps around the field all because rvp , SAF s love child , takes rooneys position without even giving Rooney a chance . Rooney suffers a nasty injury , is force to watch rvp steal his spot completely , then forced to play in positions including the left wing , cm , right wing And in a role far too deep to be called behind the striker . Wayne Rooney stills scores 16 goals and a leading assist tally of 10 . How dare u united fans turn ur back on some1 who has brought us glory and been with us for 9 years , I’m really shocked some of u even claim to watch football . Wayne Rooney , will come back to trafford as a Chelsea player and tear the united defence to shreds . U say he’s unfit and doesn’t train hard enough? Really , WAYNE ROONEY , does not train hard enough? Did the press tell u this ? Ofcourse . Do u believe every word of the press? Probably . Wake up united fans , this 27year old STRIKER , is far from past his peak . 30 year old rvp , definately closer . After watching Rooney form such incredible partnerships with Ronaldo , Chicha and that excellent understanding with Valencia on the wing in 2010 , coupled with the fact the one game Rooney and kagawa played the 2 upfront united banged in 4 and by far kagawa’s best performance of the season , who, on earth , would want Rooney to leave ???? Only fake united fans who watch 10 games a season , that I assure u . Pull the wool above ur eyes united fans .more interesting is that Rooney denies ever even asking for a transfer , that being verbal or written , and SAF’S confirmation of that has now become a conspiracy as to ur reason behind it was extracting revenge after 2010 . That may seem far fetched , but Rooney has every right to ask to be moved to a club where he will play in the role he was born to play . U must be the dumbest supporter I’ve come across , go and support some inter school football and leave the large scale support to those with knowledge will u?

I am a season ticket holder. Are you?
I personally feel Rooney hasn’t been that great for us for a number of seasons. He’s been ok/good but not great.
You mention the fergie conspirecy. Why would he do that? Why would the other team players mention Rooney wanting to go? Why would he be dropped so dramatically ? You insult other fans because they have a different opinion to yourself but who’s to say yours is correct! I recognise many utd player names but yours isn’t one that I’ve heard of. I guess your getting your information from the same sources as the other people you are insulting….the media.
Oh by the way, what stand is your season ticket in?
Ps, google the stands 😉 for your answer. Remember not to state the away section!

Firstly , not a single united player has blatantly said Rooney is leaving , infact , none have . I may not be a season ticket holder , but that’s coz I live in South Africa , still I’ve visited manchester many times and furthermore I don’t have to he at the game to be watching it . My statements on Wayne are facts , and ur probably wasting ur time going to games . Last season I bet ur dumb ass worshipped Rooney . I criticize united fans because of the way they feel they can outwardly say to hell with waaat he’s not that good anyway . He has been the heartbeat of united , how can u blame him for wanting to leave after being benched and played out of position the way he was last season . Btw , don’t show ur season ticket holder status off , if I lived in manchester I’d buy one for ur grandmother too .

Well put! I could not agree with you more, Rooney is a lil bit of a wild child, but in pure footballing terms he is one hell of a footballer, all these people commenting are not even worthy of inter-school football, bcoz even those kids would whoop their ass!! RVP has been superb for us, no arguments, but Rooney is still our talisman…

It certainly will Israel but we must be realistic , I agree with u in that we can hope , but we go thru disappointment most transfer windows since Ronaldo left , we should prioritise and ensure we keep the players we need , then focus on affordable signings with the likes of strootman being my perfect fit . Still , totally agree we’re allowed to hope , but we will end up disappointed , I say we focus on keeping Rooney then adding players that are attainable and need to be there , please read my above comment on Rooney stats and let me know if u agree , regards , zubair

Get your head out of rooneys ass!!!! he’s not the be and end of! RVP has been a better player for us since his been here and rooney keeps getting dropped because of his bad form!!! If he was playing well he would be in his prefurred position but he’s not so shut up!!!

          May 29, 2013 at 8:50 am

I think we need Strootman/ Marchisio (midfield), on wings probably Isco/Bale(just hoping) and in defence we don’t need anybody at the moment. Also we can afford to sell Nani and Anderson, we already given enough chances to prove themselves.

We have 4 best strikers and don’t need anybody and we can keep all of them happy, if we are able to survive in all three competitions till the end.

Also we need to give chances to our young players like Powell, Januzaj, Thorpe and Petrucci in next season.

One more thing , sorry but I enjoy having conversations with fans who ae realistic and know their players and club. Would u be happy with cesc ? Definately a fantastic player and the potential of a formidable partnership with rvp , but do we really need more arsenal at our club ? I’d like a freah face in Ann honesty, and I really rate gundegan , surprised people aren’t falling over for his signature , ESP us since we do need that box to box hard working cm with ability both in defence and attack . Comments please

  26. niero

    May 29, 2013 at 9:48 am

you know guys, we need to be realistic here, rooney has underperfomed due to being played out of his favourite position, so dont blame the player, chicha in my opinion is being wasted just like kagawa, if we dont want to use this 3, then let them find other clubs because it isnt fair to them, the likes of welbeck, nani, young, valencia should be the ones we are talking about here.

  27. salisu

    May 29, 2013 at 10:21 am

it is true dat rooney is the best thing dat has happend to man u since ronaldo left bt my issue wit him is that why d transfer request twice in 3yrs wat 4?as for me rooney is a vital personel for man u lets bring in a gud defensive midfeilder in d likes of strootman,as for attack i tink we ar ok bt d wings honestly we need renforcement and at the sametime i think moyes hav a plan so lets see wat he has in mind.

  28. A_zedd

    May 29, 2013 at 10:36 am

Keep Rooney(PRIORITY),bring in Strootman, get Nani and Anderson more gametime to get back in shape, get a real left winger(that Benfica lefty aint too bad)…I dnt think Utd need all those high-profile players! Jst a few additions n touches here n der!

  29. A_zedd

    May 29, 2013 at 10:41 am

What bloody Fabregas?? Modrich?? U think players are bought like M&Ms??? Just get our attack revolving around Rooney again,a lil more muscle and the supporting role is for Kagawa and please….Strootman!!! Dnt we miss Hargreaves???

  30. Alfie

    May 29, 2013 at 12:09 pm

Look with Moyes as the manager the reality is that signing & playing for Utd has just become a lot less attractive. Moyes Everton side whilst doing well to achieve regular top 6 finish were defend and long ball up to big man, it was very painful to watch. Big question is will he change and if he wants to can he. His first big club to manage, no trophy winning mentality and no Champ’s League experience. Whilst club name will attract players, the new man will scare so big big names away.

Just to say Man. U. Is a great club. The club does not need anymore striker/s. All it needs is to strengthen up the mid-field and a little touch on the wings. “United for life”

I think fans should stop abusing fellow fans, everybody is entitled to his or her opinion. To me,United should forget abt lewandoski and keep Rooney, sell nani, fabio, anderson, get 2 good mildfielders to partiner kagawa and carrik, and United will reign again.
