Tottenham may sign Spanish star

What happens in terms of transfers this summer will of course be heavily dictated to by whether Tottenham manage to beat off Chelsea and Arsenal and get into the Champions League qualification places for next season. If Tottenham don’t qualify for the world’s elite club competition then the speculation about Gareth Bale will turn into an absolute summer frenzy. Rumours are already rumbling about Bale leaving this summer and Real Madrid appear to be one of his strongest suitors.

Fearsome front line

Not happy with Cristiano Ronaldo on the left flank, Real Madrid are apparently interested in taking Gareth Bale, to form one of the most fearsome front lines in modern football. Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy appears quite confident that the player will stay at White Hart Lane, having signed a massive new contract last season. But if they don’t get that third or fourth place then Bale may well look to move on.

Manchester United, PSG and Manchester City will also be interested in the sensational winger – but Real Madrid seem very keen and today The Mirror reports that they are prepared to offer their Spanish star Jose Callejon as part of the package to take Bale to The Bernabeu.

The £8m rated, 26 year old winger has featured more prominently for Real this season but is still unhappy at being left out for some of the biggest games. He has played 4 times for the Spain U21s but has never got a full international cap for a Spanish national team in its absolute pomp. This signing would represent cold comfort if Bale does decide to leave Tottenham but let’s take a look at the player anyway.
