Manchester City

What a cracking set of tips!

I don’t know about you lot, but I’m struggling to find too much more to get excited about in this football season. The EPL race is all but over. All the English clubs are out of the Champions League and the FA Cup semi between Manchester City and Chelsea should really be the final. Let’s face it, whoever wins that should walk the actual final.

Chelsea and Tottenham

Chelsea fans will be fairly excited by the finish that their club should have in store and Tottenham will also be battling for a top four finish and the Europa League trophy. But, in general, it’s all a bit of a damp squib isn’t it? I suppose that the title race and Chelsea’s impossible Champions League victory of last year was always going to be one of the toughest of acts to follow. But, with no international competition in sight for England this summer, I’m already getting my cricket seat and beer belly ready for a 4 month sabbatical from The Beautiful Game. Let’s face it, we probably need this break as, next season, we are going straight through to the World Cup. So now is the time to build up brownie points with your non football-loving partner.

The Derby

There are of course a few rich pickings still on offer. There is always Barcelona. And there is always Manchester United vs Manchester City. Even if Manchester City are pretty much resigned to a proper cuffing from Manchester United in this title race, they will want more than ever to get one over on their hated rivals in the derby on Monday evening.

With Wazza and Rafa probably back for United and Manchester City also pretty much back to full strength, this game should be a self-contained masterpiece. If the teams were a few points apart in the title race then we might expect a tight game but, in the circumstances, I’m looking for an open cup-tie of a game – an exposition of great attacking football. With this in mind let’s have a look at a few bets that you might fancy tonight….

Have a flutter you nutter!
