3 signings to make United kings of Europe again

3 signings to make United kings of Europe again

It’s been a rough time for Manchester United in the Champions League. After 3 finals in 4 years they went out to Basle last season in the group stages. Then United were unfairly eliminated this season, after Nani-gate. It’s great how you can put the word ‘gate’ after anything to make it sound controversial. You should try it sometime!

Anyhoo, bad luck aside, Manchester United have looked unconvincing in Europe for a while. They just about held their own at The Bernabeu last month, but when was the last time you saw them really cuff a good foreign side? While their domestic form continues to be strong they clearly need to address the shortcomings in Europe. Here are the 3 players that could affect this positive change.

Mario Gotze – This kid has been superb for Dortmund and would be a sensation at Manchester United. He’s still only 20 but he’s already running tings in the national squad, with 5 goals in 22 outings, in what should be an historic international career. He can dribble, score goals and make stupendous passes. And it’s this general progressiveness that Manchester United have lacked in their midfield since the hey day of Paul Scholes. There will be huge competition for his signature and he won’t come cheap. But he would be worth the hassle.

Robert Lewandowski – The persistently strong links between Lewandowski and Manchester United would suggest that Sir Alex will offload one of his current crop of 4 strikers in the summer. RVP and Danny Wellbeck will certainly stay. Chicharito always puts in a shift. Worryingly, this leaves Wayne Rooney. Everyone who supports Manchester United will be praying that he stays, but if the fracture between player and club is real then the Dortmund striker could be heading to Old Trafford. At 24, he’s the finished article. He is something of an old-fashioned striker – a strong, powerful player who simply wants to score goals – and he has 50 them in 91 glittering games for his club. Another who is coveted by many elite clubs in Europe.

Gareth Bale – if the unimaginable happens and Rooney is to leave then it will, at least, leave a huge amount of money in the kitty. And that should surely be spent on this lad. United have enough, for now at least, down the right flank in the shape of Valencia and Zaha. But, down the left they still haven’t replaced Ryan Giggs. If Fergie wants to continue playing 4-4-2 then who better to fill the position than the wonderful Welshman. He would bring total football back to Old Trafford.

Ferguson should impose a ban on any of his players being called for international duty pending any crucial match for United. Rooney’s groin injury caused on England duty against Montenegro harmed United’s chances against Chelsea, as he was not available to play. Indeed, four United players on duty in that match did not help United who let us face it, are not getting any favours from the FA, quite the contrary.

We’re would we play gotze?! We brought kagawa in to fill that position and since SAF inall his infinite wisdom refuses to use him in his spot despite him showing his vast potential & skill when he does get in the middle there’s no room for another marquee player we won’t freaking use. We need to clear out young bc he can’t hit the bright side of a barn and Valencia who just sprints head first into the barn falls over and asks for fouls. Idk about nani he is starting to show his class again but if we resign him and he flops again it’s a waste. Bring in a world class player like bale or Martinez on the left( I would love for us to bring Ronnie back but £55-70 million for someone whose 28? Noooooooooooo. He can join for free next summer if he wants.) and let zaha fight nani over the RW position. Send Welbeck on a loan for a year use it to give chicharito, who is only 24, more time let him do his magic powers and get more goals and drive his value up while welbecks gone and then offload him for around £25-30 mill after a good year when Danny comes back. And can we please get rid of Evans and get an actual good cb? I like the jones vidic partnership but Evans for me is not united class.and we don’t need lewandowski! We already have the best strike force in all of Europe! No this window should be one or two quality mids/wingers and a solid cb. This should be our lineup if we actually use money
    De gea
    Büttner jones vidic Rafael
    Bale cleverley carrick zaha kagawa
RVP or rooney with chicharito off the bench

We won’t have any consistency if we’re always having a revolving door of players leaving WE ARE NOT CITY that is how they choose to run their team and look where they are 15 points behind us in the league no consistency and playing time together is the key to our success one or 2 a year for people who are injury prone(Anderson) or not performing(all our wingers) is okay but we mustn’t become a city-esque team giving people a year to be absolutely amazing or we drop them, no that’s never been our philosophy and it’s paid back its rewards in titles

Wakheel and many other millions are right: No more fancy wingers but quality midfielders please. If being embarrassed by Madrid isn’t enough for SAF, nothing will be…SAF is old fashioned ( being pretty old, mind you ) and football has moved on.
