Midfield superstar fancies Chelsea move

Marouane Fellaini is easily one of the stand out performers of this Premier League season and has expressed an interest in moving to Chelsea. The Stamford Bridge club have been rumoured suitors of the Belgian for a long while and the player himself is clearly interested in making a move. Fellaini told the Daily Mirror

“Am I interested in Chelsea? It’s normal, right? I’ve never played in the Champions League,”

“I’m happy here, I know everyone, I get along with my team-mates. It’s my home. On the other hand, I also want to take the next step. Fate will decide.”

“Everton paid £20 million and do not want to sell me for nothing. If a big club wants me, they will have to pay the price.”

Fellaini, who has moved further up the park as his career has progressed, is Everton’s top scorer this season with 11 league goals and, at 25, still has room for improvement.
Chelsea have a supremely talented squad but it feels a little unbalanced at the moment. Since Roman came to the club Chelsea have always had a physicality to complement their more creative players. But the midfield does look a bit light at the moment – as if it can be bullied at times. Whether Fellaini comes in to play in the midfield of as a number 10, he can be a thorn in the side of the opposition and adds the sort of brute strength that we have become accustomed to in the middle of the park for Chelsea.

But, as Fellaini said in his interview, Everton shelled out a lot of money for the player so he won’t come cheap. Chelsea will have to pay another small fortune if they are serious about taking the player to Stamford Bridge.
