Manchester United linked with large double swoop – reports

It’s clear to us that the one element of the Manchester United squad that currently needs improvement is the wide areas. Nani has threatened to conquer for so long that he will soon be due a testimonial. The signing of Ashley Young was about as exciting as that of Alan Smith. And, after a few good years from the jet heeled Antonio Valencia, the Ecuadorian is suffering a massive crisis of form and confidence. Where once he threatened every chink in the opposition armoury, he currently looks as if his boot laces are tied together. Valencia will recover, we are sure of that. But Manchester United need some more serious quality on the wings. Wing play is what they are all about. And with Rooney and RvP in the middle, it’s a crime to see bad service from the wide areas.

Porto’s James Rodriguez has been mentioned in the same sentence as Manchester United countless times over the last year or so. The baby faced wide man can play up front or on either wing and has left the Porto fans saying ‘Radamel who’, having bagged 22 in 51 games for the club since he arrived from Banfield in 2010. He does look the business. Slightly less flashy than Nani but slightly more magical than Valencia. Amidst the fog of daily speculation, we could definitely imagine a deal for the 20 year old eventually being struck between Porto and Manchester United. The Metro claims that Nani could go the other way as part of the deal.

Other speculation suggests that Manchester United are in a battle with Chelsea for Hamburg’s South Korean striker Heung-Min Son. Due to good management and good fan bases the Bundesliga is thriving and an increasing number of players from the German league are being coveted by Spanish and English sides. Chelsea have already got in on the act by signing Marko Marin from Werder Bremen in the summer. The latest player of interest is a striker who has 17 goals in 60 appearances from Hamburg.  Heung-Min Son’s agent has stoked the fires by claiming:
‘A transfer in the next summer? He has signed a new contract with Hamburg SV extending it for one year, but there have been many offers for him as from Manchester United and Chelsea.’

Fergie will buy a forward and that will be it. Who did he buy to replace Hargreaves and Scholes when he retired . (no one)
When will you all realise that United have no money. The Glazers want it all for themselvesd.
