Reading have confirmed that they have made a bid for long term Liverpool target Tom Ince. Reading coach Brian McDermott said earlier that he has made a move for the player, which could be the start of a bidding war between themselves and Liverpool.
Liverpool seemed confident of landing the England youngster earlier in the winter and reports suggested that the club were in negotiations with Blackpool for the player.
But this latest twist is sure to alarm, and possibly mobilise, the Liverpool hierarchy as they try to rebuild the foundations of a successful side at Anfield.
Liverpool will have to move quickly if they really do want the player as Reading have now shown their hand.
