Ricky Lambert meets Liverpool’s needs

Southampton are slowly growing into the Premier League but continue to struggle for points. And Ricky Lambert continues to look a cut above the rest.

At 30 years of age he doesn’t fit comfortably into the template of players that Brendan Rodgers would ideally like to sign, but he could surely do a job for Liverpool and would be a gettable option for the front line in January.

Let go by Liverpool at the age of 15 Lambert is still a devoted Reds fan and would jump at the chance to play for the NorthWest giant. He’s not the small, nimble and speedy player that Rodgers is looking for long term, but he is more cultured than Andy Carroll and has an eye for the inventive that would get the hearts racing at Anfield. After years in the lower leagues he’s proven this season that he is more than capable of making the grade at the top level.

Rome wasn’t built in a day and Liverpool need to buy some players who will represent a stepping stone to a brighter future. Thus, Liverpool could do a lot worse than to go for Ricky Lambert in January. He would surely be the perfect medium term addition to a side which desperately needs a focal point to their attack and, moreover, goals. Lots more goals.

So, Liverpool fans, would you want Ricky lambert in Jan?

I dont think he would, where is his service going to come from?. Im amazed with the players Liverpool are linked with, they’re skint. so unless the deals are loans they wont be signing anybody.
