Manchester United ready for massive double swoop – report

Speculation persists that Manchester United are about to do a deal for Porto winger James Rodriguez. Most rumours are of course wildly innacurate, but this one doesn’t seem to want to lie down. No matter how many times you smash it around the chops, it just keeps getting back up.

The latest suggestion is that Porto will take the terminally misfiring Nani in a swap deal with Rodriguez as early as Christmas. Nani seems to be doing a Berbatov at Old Trafford these days. He has let all of the criticism and rumour get on top of him – he looks like a dead man walking at Old Trafford. Whether he will go to Porto in return for the highly rated Columbian remains to be seen. But Manchester United really need a natural left footer to give them the sort of balance that has been lacking since Ryan Giggs ran out of jet fuel. Ashley Young? Pah! Shinji Kagawa? Maybe, but then the formation would have to adapt. With Rodriguez in the side, Manchester United would have two of the most frightening wingers in Europe.

The second rumour of the day surrounds man of the moment Victor Wanyama. He’s another who has been linked with Manchester United for some time and the hype has only increased with his recent displays, particularly against Barcelona in the Champions League. At 21 he’s already a wardrobe of a man but has the technique of a much smaller dude. He scores goals and dominates midfields. He could well be the final piece in Manchester United’s jigsaw if he can be prized away from Celtic. Manager Neil Lennon reckons that he won’t sell for less than £25m but Fergie will reportedly look to snare the Kenyan for half of that.

Such is the level of interest in the player, we think that Fergie may even try for Wanyama during the winter window. Watch this, window-sized space for updates.

    • Guys Rodriquez is da man to make united really dangerous he plays like hazard plus he likes to drift infield just imagine that R.v.p;Rooney;Kagawa;Rodriguez a really flexible team which is a nightmare for defenders plus we should get isco as well he plays like Silva but more skills.

  1. The two players are what United needed including Lewandoski, if the three can be gotten Manchester United will be a threat to any club

  2. That double deql would be perfect. Id be very tempted sell the injured rock that is vidic for 33 million and replace with subotic for 20. Money in bank and proven defender, maybe not in pl but wouldnt take long!!

  3. Man utd needs super star Wanyama desperately now. Let price not be our obstacle this time. If other clubs can pay 4 him we too can. Up utd!

  4. Wanyama is a wardrobe!! HAHA!! definitely . We need a wardrobe in the middle who can run it, control it, out run, out tackle and out last every other person who steps on the field..
HE is the man! And the “dude” can play football!
    Sign him up!

  5. rodriguez and lewandoski are just fine, showcross too. but not wanyama, he is too mediocre. one good game against barca does not make him manutd material.

  6. Wanyama is special ! And at 21 has massive potential .. Having competed against arguably the best mid in the world over 2games with performances likened to Roy keane he is the real deal .
Celtic though are in great financial position though with only £2m debt but with £5m for Ki and a £20m+ champions league windfall due…
Therefore a sneaky bid of £12m for a player who shone v Barcelona compared to £18m jordan Henderson or £15 for joe who Allen will be laughed at !
If such penny pinching occurs I see another club swooping in and stealing the new roy keane

  7. Man united need to add James Rodriguez, Vincent Wanyama, Ryan showcross and probably sell Nemanja vidic to get Subotic during the January transfer to booster the team.

  8. Being a kenyan and a utd fan i fear the chances of wanyama in utd with the club history of africans.go arsenal bro.

  9. To be honest saf hardly makes tranfers during month jan reason players wil be cup tied for ucl likes of james, wanyama, lowendoski i reckon only kevin strootman wont be tied

  10. i dream of another super 4-4-2 manchester united with Degea,Raphael, Rio, Vidic, Evra-wanyama, sneijder, valencia, james, rooney en van persie and lindy, phil, kagawa, chicharito, cleverly, young, carric, evans on bench, how’s it guys?

  11. Agian, please sir alex ferguson sign me up because i like to play of manchester united just sign me and alet me by my fb i d jazzy jay silver.i love 2 play with rooney, r v p. Kagawa. Pls sir.

  12. i dont trust man u for january transfer, but the truth is that man u need at least two players that can boost their playing style to enables them to beat any team they come across with including barcelonia, so SAF pls work on that to make your end time as manager memorable.

  13. Sir should sell Nani and bring in James Rodrequez, showcros in the defendence and Victor Wanyama i believe that with this players united will have a new look next season. Thanks.

  14. sell nani for james hummels or papadopoulos for ferdinand (summer ) scholes and giggs out buy wanyama and strootman and finally buy isco and the team is perfect

  15. Saf pls make sure utd sell nani 2 get james, and if possible sell welbeck and buy robert and also shawcros and wayanma

  16. Please Bring In Striker – Robert Lewandowski or Karim Benzema . Defensive Midfield Victor Wanyama, Attacking Midfielder Isco for Paul Scholes, Winger James Rodriguez for Nani and
    C. Defender Matt Hummels for Rio Ferdinand.

  17. I would like to see James in a Red jersey by January, To add on Naymar, Ince among others and remember we missed out potential players during transfer window but its now time to replace them pliz.
