Whilst much of the fuss and fanfare has surrounded Oscar and Moura during the Olympics, Leandro Damiao has been going about the quiet business of winning games for his side. As top scorer at the games he may not have quite the same pzazz as the aforementioned but he nevertheless looks like an absolute corker of a player.
An increasing number of big clubs are circling and Tottenham will just hope that they have got in early enough to secure the player, as his stock rises almost by the hour.
Leandro is the archetypal modern footballer. A technically gifted and highly mobile silent assassin of a forward. Efficient of movement and highly composed in front of goal. He and Neymar may ultimately become the golden Brazilian strikeforce of their generation. Leandro would fit nicely into the Tottenham style of play, with Gareth Bale providing the ammo.
Anyway, he looks like a steal, even if it takes £15-20m to get him. But Tottenham will know that they need to move fast if they want to avoid losing out in a ferociously competitive summer window.
