Highlights can obviously be very misleading. For example, when the (then) little known Anderson was signed for Manchester United in 2007 a quick surf of youtube showed the Brazilian to be a prolific goalscorer of inordinate dribbling and shooting ability. Nearly 5 years and just a handful of goals later the charismatic South American is a decent holding midfielder but couldn’t hit a cow’s bum with a banjo.
Banjos and bovine bottoms aside, Liverpool could definitely use an attacking midfielder and The Daily Mail reports that Hertha Berlin’s Brazilian playmaker Raffael Caetano de Araújo ,could be a target for Kenny Dalglish this summer. The above video is one of the more complementary illustrations of his career highlights, but, having done some meticulous research, soccersweep can conclude that even the less colourful edits seem to show him as a very fluid player who regularly beats his man and keeps the ball moving forward at a nice pace, with good passing and dribbling ability. With the workmanlike Henderson and Lucas ‘complementing’ Stevie Gerrard in the centre , the Reds must surely be looking for a more progressive midfielder in the summer. Whether or not, at just shy of 27, Raffael is the man for the job remains to be seen but I could definitely envisage this type of flair player being considered for Anfield.

Where did you get the idea that Henderson is workmanlike? He is lightweight, he can’t keep the ball when he occasionally tackles he makes a hash of it and usually does it in front of our penalty area which invariably leads to us losing a goal, reminds me of Lucas a few seasons ago. If he eventually turns out like Lucas I’d be happy, but until and if he does he needs protection from the more experienced players around him.

‘Workshy’ would be a better description of Henderson. He make little contribution and it has become obvious that others player only pass to him when no real option. He should send a year or so in the reserves, he certainly isn’t good enough to be a Liverpool regular (like a couple of the other newcomers)
