Manchester United fans will wake up this morning to the sum of all their fears regarding Ravel Morrison. For, according to The Telegraph, a deal to take one of Manchester United’s brightest young talents in history, is all but completed.
Many will question the ramifications of this move for Manchester United, who must be stunned at recent developments with their brightest but most troublesome of young things. Does it also represent a power shift away from Manchester United? Would this have happened 10 years ago?
It will be very interesting to see how Morrison does at West Ham United. I, for one, think that if they can keep him on the straight and narrow that Sam Allardyce has masterminded the greatest of coups. The sad thing for Manchester United fans is that, despite all the investment in the youngster, if he continues on his upward trajectory as a player it is more than likely that he will be playing for one of their greatest rivals in a few years time.
The Manchester United faithful will just hope that despite the acrimonious departure, Sir Alex Ferguson has insisted on first dibs should the player be sold in future.
