Report: Arsenal open talks for classy signing

There is no shame in failing to take maximum points at home every time. And, while Hull are undoubtedly a far smaller club than Arsenal, they are in the throes of a great period in their history under Steve Bruce. They don’t fear anyone and have goals in them.

It’s more the manner of the draw which drags up all the old criticisms of Arsenal – namely that they lack grit and are too easy to play through.

It’s increasingly hard to understand why Arsene Wenger hasn’t addressed the long term problems that any fan in the crowd could tell you exist.

Reports today suggest that Arsenal have opened talks with football agent Miroslav Bicanic over a £6.4million deal for Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Marcelo Brozovic.

Arsenal begin talks over Marcelo Brozovic with Gunners leading £6.4m chase for Inter Milan target

The 21 year old has already played 56 games for Dinamo Zagreb. But his goal return of 9 in that period tells you that he’s not necessarily the anchor man that Arsenal so patently need. He also scored a notable 7 in 12 for the Croatia U21s before graduating to the senior side this year. He’s already turned out 6 times for the senior side, scoring once.

He certainly looks like an interesting prospect but he would probably be vying with the likes of Cazorla, Ramsey, Ozil et al for a place in the side rather than looking for a berth in the defensive midfield role.

Let’s take a look at him in action. Arsenal fans: is he what you need?

I have said it and I will continue to say it, that Wengers failure to replace Vamerlin and not signing a perfect strong defensive midfielder will cost Arsenal a lot and that is what is happening now. Wenger lies to Arsenal fans for failure to resign Fabrigas, because Fabrigas could have been a better option to any other midfielder. Song could also have been a better option on loan. If Wenger fail to solve strongly the centre defence and the defensive midfield possitions, I will regret to say that this season will be Arsenals worst seasons. Gunners 4ever.

I totally agree with Agina Anthony in fact i have been saying the same thing for months. Your comments are so like mine it’s almost like you were reading my thoughts as you were writing. It’s so amazing that you and I can see were our problems lie yet our manager, coaching staff and the board cannot,or perhaps prefer not see otherwise it would cost money to buy the players we need to correct the problem. If reports that AW will be given £20m in January are true that is like putting a plaster on a gaping wound.
