With so much happening at Manchester United over the last few months – Moyes out, LvG in, the signings and the 3-5-2 – quite a bit of pertinent information has gone under the radar.
One such morsel came from Nicky Butt, who recently suggested that LvG will only be at the club for three years. It wasn’t a categoric statement but it does seem to have implied that the boss won’t be extending his contract.
‘We’ve got a manager who is a proven winner, but it (United) is a short-term thing for him. He has signed a three-year deal and is going to be here for that length of time.
Louis will undoubtedly do a great job at Manchester United and there will surely be a clamour for him to stay on. He may be persuaded to do so but we always felt that this would be a three-year tenure for the Dutchman before a younger Manchester United affiliate like Ryan Giggs takes the job full time.
Giggs clearly relished being caretaker manager of Manchester United at the back end of last season. But it was too early, and too critical a juncture for the club, for him to take the job full time.
Having been managed by Sir Alex Ferguson he now has another of the very best coaches in the world to learn from. We wouldn’t be at all surprised if Giggs was asked to be the next manager with legends like Gary Neville, Nicky Butt and Paul Scholes alongside him in three years time when the club has been rebuilt to the point of pre-eminence once more.
When asked if he wanted to be Manchester United manager full-time Giggs simply replied ‘Yes’.
We strongly believe that he’s being primed for the top job in three years.

LVG should stay till his 70th birthday, which means for around 6, 7 years then giggsy will be mature enough as a manager to take over

I think he can, but he should take his time and lean more. He shouldn’t rush into taking the job that probably could find it difficult to control certain players in the dressing room.Even after LVG if it will take him another few years with another manager he shouldn’t worry at all.Gather the experience and total control before he takes the mantle because some people don’t just support united but worship it.
