Liverpool linked with another potentially expensive solution to a shaky defence

Liverpool are said to be amongst a group of leading clubs who are monitoring the form of Turkish international Omer Toprek.

He was born ion Germany and has spent his whole career there at various clubs. He played for Ravensburg and Freiburg before getting his big chance with Leverkusen in 2011.

He’s blossomed there and become a part of the furniture in three successful years. He’s also played 21 times for Turkey (his parents are Turkish immigrants).

In 2009 he was out for 4 months after suffering severe burns in a freak Karting accident. But this hasn’t done any lasting damage to his excellent career.

At 25 he looks like fully mature and solid centre back to bring some more assurance to a hitherto shaky Liverpool back line. Brendan Rodgers has spent big money on Sakho and Lovren but neither have fully settled and we wouldn’t be shocked if he took the plunge yet again for further defensive reinforcements.

Let’s see the lad in action. Liverpool fans: keen?
