This is classic tabloid fodder during the transfer window. But perhaps Cristiano Ronaldo’s mood in training is indeed indicative of a wider problem.
As you may have heard Ronnie got a tad annoyed with Rafa Benitez’s training methods this week.
The Independent reports:
Cristiano Ronaldo labels Rafael Benitez’s training methods as ‘s***’ after Real Madrid coach makes squad play the crossbar challenge
Apparently the ex-Manchester United legend was annoyed that Rafa ruled out a training game goal. And then Ronnie suggested, in no uncertain terms, that the squad should be practising hitting the target instead of the crossbar.
Considering how good Ronnie is in front of goal – he scored 61 in 55 last season – CR7 may have a point.
But the new Real Madrid coach also deserves some sympathy.
Despite a celebrated career, the Spaniard has never managed a club with so many egos and he may find it hard to cope.
Does he bend to Ronaldo and change his training methods or try to stamp his authority on the squad by insisting they do things his way?
We still think that Ronnie is happy to say put at Real Madrid. He’s surely the second best player in the world behind Lionel Messi and enjoying his life in Spain.
But you can be sure that if he gives the slightest hint that he wants to move, Manchester United will be in for him quicker than you can say World Footballer of The Year.
Let’s see the clip where Ronnie gets mad. Manchester United fans: anything in it?
