Manchester United boss axes Falcao as 4 others to get their marching orders this week

Louis van Gaal met all of his players after the game against Hull on Sunday and told them whether they have a future at the club beyond this summer. Latest reports reveal that at least five players have been, or will soon be, given their marching orders. The Daily Mail states:

Manchester United have told striker Radamel Falcao that his time at Old Trafford is over.

In meetings this week Van Gaal will also tell defenders Rafael and Jonny Evans that they are available for transfer this summer while winger Nani and goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard also have no future at Old Trafford.

It is with some regret that Falcao won’t get to prove his worth at Manchester United. There is a suggestion that the player wants to remain in The Premier League and noone would put it past him to prove the critics wrong next season – he could turn out to be the signing of the summer for some club. Rumours suggest that he wants to play in London.

As for the others, Nani and Jonny Evans have had more than enough time to prove themselves at Manchester United. Anders Lindegaard has been a decent understudy for De Gea but we always remember a game at Reading a few years back when his head went. Manchester United won 4-3 but it was no thanks to Lindegaard. That said, he’s a decent keeper who could also do a job in The Premier League.

We would be sad to see Da Silva go. His early Manchester United career showed such promise but injuries have prevented him from maturing as the club would have liked. We imagine that a number of other players will be leaving this summer and we shall keep you updated.
