Tottenham’s Best XI vs Burnley plus injury updates

Totters

Tough Season

The game at White Hart Lane on Saturday (Kick Off 15:00 local time) will feature two teams of whom you simply don’t know what to expect from game to game.

In truth Burnley are easier to read. They are a classic Championship side who have come up and shown real guts in the top tier. But they lack Premier League quality in their side and have been desperately short of goals this season. But they come into the game on the back of a decent run.

Tottenham have been known to struggle against this sort of opposition at home in recent times. They need to play an attacking side and try to score in the first 20 if they want to control and enjoy this match.

You wouldn’t be putting much of your hard-earned on a result for Tottenham but you have to imagine that they have enough quality you do the damage. We still think that Mo-Po will make the grade as Tottenham manager – especially after he’s had another couple of windows to shape the squad to his liking.

Tottenham have a pretty clean bill of health for this one while Burnley are missing Mee, Ward, Duff, Taylor and Vokes. Only Duff has a decent chance of playing this weekend.

So here is our strongest Tottenham XI for a game which could get Spurs off to a great start in the festive period.

Mason is off form – I would play Stambouli and Lamella disturbs spurs play – I’d much rather play 2 up front or play Lennon on the wing.
