Louis Van Gaal meeting with superstar who Manchester United fans would idolise?

Superb

One of the many things that we like about Louis is his penchant for the unpredictable. While many assumed that he would concentrate on the signing of defenders in the summer, he spent the lions share on more attacking power.

And the Arsenal result vindicated him too a degree. Perhaps the problems are further up the field after all. The young defenders performed admirably at the weekend and we think that they have seen some unfair stick.

Few argued with the signing of Angel Di Maria and Manchester United fans would surely be unanimous in their approval for Arjen Robben if he joined the club.

At 30 years of age it’s surely now or never for one of the standout performers at Brazil 2014.

The Guardian’s Jamie Jackson Tweeted that:

Van Gaal in Lowry Hotel tonight speaking to Bayern people

Intriguingly, there have been rumours that he actually told reporters that he was there to meet with Arjen Robben. Van Gaal was apparently spotted at The Lowry, where Bayern were training, and was apparently asked by Bild reporters if he was there to see the German champions.

”I don’t visit Bayern, but Arjen Robben. I do not go to the banquet.”

Whether there is anything in this we can’t be sure. But we do believe that Van Gaal’s master plan at Manchester United includes another flying winger like Di Maria. Another left footer might not add the natural balance on the right. But Robben is not just any old left-footer and he can play anywhere across the midfield or front line – he’s simply too good not to like.

Sooner or later Manchester United will buy another flyer to add symmetry to United’s attack. Does it get any better than Robben?

Let’s see him in action. Manchester United fans: too expensive for a 30 year old?
