‘He’s going to be a problem for us’ says Arsenal man of in form Manchester United star

Head-to-head

Dazzling form

With the dazzling attackers that Manchester United bought in the summer it’s nice to hear that some of the old guard are still getting a little attention.

Leading up to Manchester United’s crunch game with Arsenal at the weekend, Jack Wilshere reckons that Wayne Rooney could be the man to watch:

“He looks sharp and in form. We’ll have to look at how to deal with that on Saturday because he’s going to be a problem for us, especially if he plays in the ten role. Or even if he plays up front.

The in form United star has scored three goals in his last 2 games for England and seems to have got real momentum back in his game after the three match ban which he received for kicking West Ham’s Stewart Downing at the beginning of October. But Wilshere reckons Roo is back to his best:

“He’s got a few goals this international break and I’m sure he’ll be looking to continue that so we’ll have to stop him.

Rooney is a menace when on this form. Before the ban he was arguably United’s best player, scoring goals as well as assisting from that number ten position which he so likes. Louis van Gaal is obviously a big fan and has made Rooney the captain and playmaker of the side.

“The main thing about Wazza is his love for the game. He still has that hunger. He’s been playing now for 12 years at the top level and to still have that hunger and the quality that matters, he’s still one of our best players if not the best.

We think that Rooney can have a great season if LvG can find the right combination put around him. Arsenal beware if Wazza is firing on Saturday.

Its great to hear a top talent give wazza the praise he deserves. The guy is a world class superstar and we should all recognize him as such, not just united supporters. Thanks Jack!
