Where will Chelsea finish? Season prediction

Progress?

A lot of the speculation in relation to Chelsea over the last week has been about whether Jose Mourinho will keep his word with regards transfer business this summer.

A few days after suggesting that his transfer activity was over Didier Drogba came into the club. We expect more additions before the start of the season.

We could still easily imagine Fernando Torres leaving Chelsea and another striker coming in to offer support and competition for Diego Costa. We also think that Chelsea lack a bit of pace up top. They have pacey wide men but could do with a lightning quick striker.

A central defender might also be purchased but The Blues do look pretty strong all over the park.

The biggest problem last season was the lack of a finisher and the new the Spanish arrival will certainly add potency to the attack. We just wonder whether Chelsea have enough of a backup plan should Costa get injured.

Didier Drogba is a world-class player but, at 36, he wouldn’t be able to lead the line for 10 games in a row, if necessary.

Meanwhile Fernando Torres seems to be on a terminal downward spiral. We think that he could really do with a change of scenery and probably country. A return to Spain would surely suit all parties – regardless of Jose’s public utterances.

But with additions like Cesc Fabregas Chelsea fans can have genuine cause for optimism that they will have a better season than last.

We believe that the title chase is going to be closer than ever before – even more so than last season.

And in Europe, while Barcelona and Real Madrid look like the strongest teams on paper, Chelsea are so good at staying the course in Europe.

We believe that the club will finish runners-up in The Premier League and get to the semifinals of the Champions League this season – although they are our dark horses to win it – as well as taking one of the domestic cup competitions.

Chelsea fans how do you think the team will do this season?

Chelsea Prediction:
EPL: Runners Up
CL: SF
FA Cup: Winners
League Cup: QF
