Arsenal are on the move in the market

ooh it’s getting extremely exciting at Arsenal right now. Arsene Wenger has kept his cards close to his chest for most of the transfer window but suddenly the rumour mill has exploded into life as far as Arsenal are concerned.

Here are updates on the three potential transfers that Arsenal could do before the end of the window:

Draxler – the number one target. the golden boy. The future of Arsenal? The Guardian said last night:

Arsenal have had Dick Law, their chief transfer negotiator, in Germany to explore the possibility of a January deal for Schalke’s Julian Draxler.

The London club are more likely to get the attacking midfielder in the summer but Law’s attendance for talks with Schalke reflects the desire to do business before the winter window closes on Friday night.

So this one may still have to wait until the summer. But Arsenal clearly want to add the player to their squad before the end of January.

Mirko VucinicEurosport says that a deal is on the table:

According to Tuttosport, the Montenegro international is considering his options and is expected to fly out to London for a medical on Thursday.

The clubs have reportedly agreed a straight six-month loan deal and are waiting for Vucinic to give the go-ahead.

This one looks as if it could happen at any time. He’d be a good, experienced addition to the forward line.

Yevhen KonoplyankaESPN has implied that Arsenal could be in the chase of rate player who was, and possibly still is, expected to join Liverpool in this window. The player’s father was quoted as saying:

“When writing about the interest from Liverpool, these people only know part of the truth.

“Yesterday, I had a long and productive conversation with the chairman of another English club. The chances of Yevhen moving to England soon are very high. His club might be Liverpool or another English club.”

Asked if the other team is Arsenal, the agent added: “I will not mention the name of the club. In the near future, you will hear it.”

No smoke without fire, we always maintain. Arsenal may lose out to Liverpool on this one but it would make sense for them to be in for a wide man after losing Theo Walcott for an extended period. We would like to see Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain finally get a proper run in the first team but this could be a late twist in the story of the January window.

In general, however, this is exactly what Arsenal need. Some seriously good fresh talent to add to their already impressive pool of players for the second half of the season. With 15 games to go in the league they need a little bit of extra impetus to get them over the finishing line.

We shall of course keep you updated on developments as they happen throughout the day. Arsenal fans, are you hopeful or confident that these deals can happen before the end of January?
