Tottenham launch bid for the best player on the market – report

What a star

The transfer window is a long slog of an event which is full of hyperbole, misinformation and Chinese whispers.

We try to decant the truth from the myth for Tottenham fans, but sometimes that is impossible. Instead we attempt to offer an informed opinion as to which potential signings would do the business for Tottenham.

And we strongly believe that if Mau-Po gets this one done then it will prove to be one of the buys of the summer for any team.

The Express reports on Tuesday:

Tottenham launch £15m bid to beat Man Utd to PSV starlet Memphis Depay

There is perhaps a foible in his game, that we haven’t seen, which is stopping the cream of Europe coming in for this lad. Because, for our money, he is un-flipping-believable.

He is one of those players who we feel could become the best in the world. It’s impossible to predict how the career of a 20 year old will pan out but Depay has all the qualities to take that crown in years to come.

He’s lightning fast, has an unbelievably powerful shot and can leave his man for dead with his quick feet. And, perhaps most importantly, he looks like an intelligent footballer. Like Cristiano Ronaldo in his early years, one with this much individual skill is clearly going to have to be taught when to keep and when to give.

But that’s not a big issue. And nor is the fact that Tottenham already have lots of wide players. Because we believe that Depay can take The Premier League by storm. Someone with real fairly dust in his boots – an even richer man’s Alexis Sanchez.

Let’s have a look at the lad in action. Tottenham fans: what’s not to like?
