Tottenham to open the bidding for powerhouse international – report

Apart from the now traditional disappointment of seeing England embarrass themselves at The World Cup it has been a fantastic tournament so far.

But another slightly frustrating factor of the tournament is that it tends to slow the transfer market down almost to a standstill.

By mid July the market will be in full swing again but, meantime, there will be speculation and still a few deals getting done.

On the Spurs front, Tottenham are the latest club to be linked with Belgium wonder kid Divock Origi.

After coming on as a sub to score a last gasp winner for Belgium against Russia at the weekend he’s quickly becoming one of Europe’s hottest young properties and looks destined to leave his current club Lille this summer.

Tottenham need strikers desperately if they want to challenge at the top end of the table next season. While Origi may not be the accomplished major signing that many Tottenham fans crave for up top, he’s an exciting prospect who could certainly add to the squad moving forward.

Reports today suggest:

Tottenham have joined clubs preparing to bid for Belgium’s latest starlet Divock Origi.

Lille want around £8m for Origi but Tottenham will open the bidding at around £5million.

He scored 5 goals for Lille last season and turned out 30 times for the club. He’s also played 4 times for Belgium with that solitary goal to his name in what promises to be a long international career.

Let’s see some highlights from the kid. Tottenham fans: would this represent a good signing or should you be concentrating on signing more established stars to score goals next season?

  1. Peter says:

Yes, he definetely would be a good signing. He has better movement and better skills than any striker we had since Berbatov. I’m Belgian, believe me, he would be a bargain at 8 million. COYS

Not sure about this guy, would prefer Batshuayi.
