Tottenham now linked with ‘The Snake’

Good enough for Tottenham?

Tottenham and Arsenal seem, at this point in time, to be in for the same players. The Alvaro Morata hype rumbles on with Liverpool apparently now entering the fray for the services of the brilliant young Spaniard.

Whether he is actually available remains to be seen. Carlo Ancellotti has stated that he is not prepared to let anybody leave his Real Madrid squad in the winter window.

“No-one is leaving and no-one is coming in.

So, despite all the bluster surrounding a move, both Arsenal and Tottenham may have to look elsewhere. We recently told you about Arsenal’s reported interest in Serie A striker Mirko Vucinic. The 30 year old veteran of the Italian league, nicknamed ‘The Snake’, has had his fair share of starts for Juventus since joining a club in 2011.

But the summer arrivals of Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente have limited the playing time of the Monetenegrin. He’s had just 8 games for the club this season – but still bagged a couple of goals. In fact, without being prolific, he’s always found the net with regularity. He’s got 21 in 71 for Juventus and scored 46 in 147 for his previous club Roma.

He’s also done the business on the international stage with a creditable 15 in 39 starts for his country.

The Daily Mirror says of Tottenham’s interest:

Italian giants Juventus are ready to offer £30million Erik Lamela a way out of his Spurs hell – less than six months after he arrived.

Juventus want Tottenham’s record signing, and will give up their Montenegrin striker Mirko Vucinic in a part-exchange deal.

We think that it’s way too early to consider offloading Lamela but a straight deal for Vucinic could add guile and experience to the Tottenham squad.

Let’s see the lad in action. Tottenham fans – is the 30 year old up to scratch or would you rather Tim Sherwood looked elsewhere this January?
