Tottenham ‘do battle’ for creative genius – report

Tottenham seem to have so many good midfielders at their disposal – you could argue that they have one of the best engine rooms in the league – but they still don’t seem to have got the balance just right.

Moussa Dembele always looks decent and Sandro has been very consitent when fit. But others, like Etienne Capoue and Lewis Holtby look as if they could well be on their way, despite really promising starts to life at Tottenham. Bentaleb is promising but inexperienced. Meanwhile, Christian Eriksen has been a really fine acquisition but proven himself to be most at home as a number ten in behind the front man.

So it could be argued that, despite their wealth of midfielders Tottenham, could use another creative talent of real personality. Someone to control games form the middle of the park.

The Guardian reports:

Werder Bremen captain Aaron Hunt could be punished for his sportsmanship with a move to Tottenham Hotspur, who will have to do battle with Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Monchengladbach in their attempt to bring the midfielder to north London.

The bit about the sportsmanship pertains to him owning up to the ref that he dived when awarded a penalty in the Bundesliga recently.

At 27 he looks like a really accomplished goal-scroing midfielder. He’s played almost 200 times for Bremen, scoring 40 goals and has also turned out for the German national side on 3 occasions.

We think that this guy could be a super addition for Tottenham. Let’s see him in action.
