Worth a punt?

We wait with bated breath to see how Tottenham will move in the transfer market this summer under their new manager Mauricio Pochettino.

There have been lots of rumours, including one suggestion that Tottenham could do a mega deal for three of Swansea’s first eleven.

But one player who has been regularly linked with Tottenham this close season is England striker Jay Rodriguez.

And despite potential interest from other clubs Tottenham remain strong favourites for his signature this summer.

In fact his price has come in again of late and Tottenham are now odds-on favourite to sign the England man this summer, with bookie SkyBet, at 5/6

This is also despite the fact that he may be offered fresh terms at Southampton in an attempt to stave off the suitors.

It’s really sad state of affairs for The Saints as they have become victims of their success over the last year.

But when a bigger and more glamourous club like Tottenham comes in it’s hard for a player of ambition, like Rodriguez, to turn them down. At 24, and having just broken into the England squad, he may feel that Tottenham would be a much better place to showcase his talents and ensure that his international career blossoms. So we think he’s more likely to move than stay this summer.

Rodriguez is an intelligent and energetic forward with a lovely touch and really good spacial awareness. He will score 15-20 goals a season for a top club but is also a real team player who puts in a shift.

Let’s take a look at the man in action again. Tottenham fans: would Rodriguez go straight into the first eleven or is he more of a squad player for now?

It may be more pruedent,to stay silent ,until such deals, are 100% done. That said on todays performance, from the likes of Dawson,Naughton,Rose,While one must take into comsideration it was their 1st game up,and played on a plastic pitch. These players, did them selves no favours.they just confirmed what many of us think. They are total rubbish, and are certainly not Premier league standard.Although one does fill for Dawson. In his demise.
