Pure class

Sometimes you feel that your club has got it exactly right with a certain transfer. At other times you can feel uncomfortable about whether they got the right man.

In this case, if reports are to be believed, then we think Real Madrid have got it spot-on.

Because reports in Spain suggest that the club is in advanced talks to bring Bayern München midfielder Toni Kroos to La Liga.

The 24-year-old German has been in sensational form over the last two years but hasn’t been able to agree on a new contract at his current club, who have a strict cap on player wages.

Manchester United have also supposedly targeted the player over the last few months but Real Madrid have seemingly stepped up their interest in the international, who is currently in Brazil at The World Cup.

Marca says:

Real Madrid are on the verge of making their first signing of the summer in the shape of Toni Kroos. The player has agreed a five-year deal worth €5 million (after tax) a season at the Bernabéu following a meeting between his agent and the ‘Los Blancos’ higher-ups in Madrid.

This probably spells the end for Sami Khedira at Real Madrid as they are very similar players and we expect Kroos to play in the defensive midfield role. That is not a certainty as Kroos can operate just as well as an attacking midfielder or in the number 10 role.

He really is a beautiful player to watch and one that Real Madrid will surely get value for money from – regardless of the initial fee.

Let’s have a look at him in action. Real Madrid fans: good signing if it happens?
