Sunderland odds on to sign Rock

As most people know Sunderland last week made a bid in the region of £4 million for Swansea’s captain Ashley Williams.

The bid was rejected and we can’t imagine Sunderland will be the only side to be interested in signing the player this summer.

He’s got experience, power, pace and good feet. We think that he could do a job for most Premier League sides.

At 29 years of age Williams is also captain of the Welsh National team and we think that this guy represents a really low risk investment.

Whether or not Sunderland have competition for his signature they are currently nailed on favourites with Skybet to sign the player if he does leave his club this summer. They are at the very short price of 1/5 to sign the defensive rock before September.

Most Sunderland fans would surely be very keen to sign the player. Whether or not John O’ Shea stays at the club this summer there is definite room for improvement in a defensive department which conceded 60 Premier League goals last season.

Manager Gus Poyet will want a much smoother ride next season and Williams would surely be one very good solution.

Let’s have a look at the man in action. Sunderland fans: perfect addition?

It’s not going to happen!!! Williams wants to stay at Swansea City and an agreement will be reached! He’s been with us from division 1 all the way up. He and the club knows how important he is and they will work it out! The club can meet his needs!

He’ll go to whoever offers him the most money, like all footballers!!
