Sneijder to Manchester United? Midfielder’s latest quotes about future

Wesley Sneijder was doing so well when questioned about his future this week. He opined about how annoying it is being asked the question all the time and how it must be frustrating for all the Galatasaray fans who constantly hear rumours about his future. He said all the right things. But then he used a classic phrase. A sentence which, we think, told the world I’m open to offers.

He said:

I am happy here, but you never know for certain what will happen in football.

As long time football observers we have come to understand that the subtext here could well be that, while not wanting to rock the boat, Sneijder is open to the possibility of yet another move.

Watching him in action of late it’s clear that he is back to his absolute best. With 8 goals in 22 games for his current side you can see that the guy has so much more to give. And, no disrespect to Galatasaray, but Sneijder could still play pretty much anywhere in Europe.

If Manchester United can sign Sneijder at the second time of asking they should move heaven and earth to do so. Because this guy is simply the perfect replacement for Paul Scholes and exactly the player Manchester United need to ignite their season and make a serious push for the title.

When you talk about top creative midfielders you simply have to include Wesley Sneijder. He’s an exceptional passer of the ball, has a great engine and scores beautiful goals.

David Moyes has a growing band of critics but he would surely win over a few people if he signed the Dutchman this winter.

Manchester United fans, is this the guy to save the club’s season?

One Response to Sneijder to Manchester United? Midfielder’s latest quotes about future

  1. Amsterdam says:

Boring those rumors about Sneijder. Sneijder told on dutch tv that he doesn’t know anything more than the interviewer, that his name always pop up at every transferwindow linking him to Man. United or a reunion with Mourinho.Sneijder is happy in Istanbul. Besides Sneijder isn’t as good as he was at Inter. He lost the captaincy of the dutch team to Van Persie nor is Sneijder sure of being selected for the dutch team . Man. United has enough ‘has beens’ in her selection. To save this season Moyes needs to have tactical plan how to play with the players he has. There are enough very good players at Man. United. The lack of game plan is frustrating
