Winger wants United

There has been much talk about Manchester united need for central midfielders in this and several previous windows.

There is no doubts that there has been a serious paucity of quality in the centre of the park for a few years now.

Manchester United always have such quality in the squad there be able to cover the central midfield areas but not necessarily with specialist players.

And while this is an ongoing concern we at soccersweep believe that Manchester United’s biggest problem is a lack of quality out wide. Manchester United seem genetically programmed to attack with width but, over the last few years, their final ball has really let them down as players like Valencia Young and Nani haven’t done the business.

They needs to buy at least two new wingers if they are going to continue with the 4-4-2.

There has been talk of Holland winner Arjen Robben leaving Bayern Munich to join Louis van Gaal at Manchester United. That would certainly improve the situation.

But with regards the left blank there has been growing from speculation which suggests that Manchester United may try to muscle in on Liverpool to sign Dnipro winger Yehven Konoplyanka.

The Guardian has reported Friday that the player favours a move to Manchester United over Merseyside:

Louis van Gaal is considering paying Yevhen Konoplyanka’s €15m (£12.1m) buyout clause, with the Dnipro winger willing to join despite Manchester United not being in next season’s Champions League.

While United and Schalke scouts were at Sunday’s game, with Dnipro officials having ensured they were accommodated, it is understood that Liverpool retain an interest. Yet despite the Merseyside club having the attraction of Champions League football, Konoplyanka is minded to sign for United.

• Player favours move to Old Trafford over Liverpool

He is an excellent wide man with a great delivery and goalscoring ability. You have to imagine he will be a success in The Premier League which ever club he joins.

Let’s see him in action
