Chelsea in summer striker fest

Although somewhat tongue in cheek as ever The Guardian has trawled the media, in response to Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho’s suggestion that new blood is needed, to present a list of players that the club will target this summer.

The list includes Diego Costa, Mario Mandzukic, Luke Shaw, Radamel Falcao, Adam Lallana, Edinson Cavani. Let’s run the rule over the likelihood of each deal happening.

Diego Costa – This link keeps resurfacing and this week it was suggested that Jose Mourinho will allow his on loan striker Romelu Lukaku leave the club providing Costa comes in. He’s a fantastic player and one of the best finishers in the modern game. One reservation? Costa doesn’t look that quick.

Mario Mandzukic – A goal machine with 45 in 80 for Bayern. But stye may offload him with Lewandowski coming in. Chelsea style player? Possibly.

Luke Shaw – If Chelsea could sing him now they would. And who better to sell the club to a Chelsea fan than Jose Mourinho. Manchester United want him but Chelsea so regularly get their man. Likely.

Radamel Falcao – Chelsea can;t buy all the top strikers int he world but they may well look for more than one with all three of their main forwards likely to leave this summer. We wouldn’t be at all surprised to see Cavani or Falcao arrive swell as Costa. Any deal for Falcao could be complicated by his long term injury Possible

Edinson Cavani – Read Falcao – without the injury. Possible

Adam Lallana – A really mobile and technically astute player but one who we fear may end up as a bit part player at Chelsea, with players like Hazard, Oscar, Willian and Schurrle all vying for the creative berths. Unlikely

Chelsea fans – what’s the dream combination of signings this summer?

GOod morning all. Pls here is my opinion on the issue, I am a die hard chelseafc fan but there is some thing the boss nd owner of chelseafc keep doing that is wrong. Instead of buying costa, cavani or even falcao. Y not keep that money invest it into youth nd recall patrick bamford, use little money nd buy emenike one Nigerian strong pacy striker with strength combine. With our good midfield nd we will win matches rather dan waste millions on ppl dat won’t last more dan 3yrs nd they fade up. Thnk u

Yes pls chelseafc will be stupid not to recall coutios de athletico madrid keep frm Chelsea on lone. He shuld take over frm cech so dat cech can hv a long time break he has tried. Dat young man I quick in reflex dan cech. If u talk of experience he has it becos *A.madrid is a big club pls let’s see him in our goal post come next season. Also JT shuld be replaced, de outstanding chelseafc defender for me is cahil nd Dava(number 28) plus number2 inainovic

It’s simple for me keep Lakuku, and buy Costa. Those two to be our main striking duo, with Either Patrick Bamford or Lucas Piazon vying for the third striker role. Sell BA, ET,O, and Fernando Torres. In fact I would use Torres as part of the Costa deal.
    Cfc for life!!

Carvani should be taken off the list. Both Costa and Falcao may be chased but atleast one can surfice-COSTA star choice
