Real Madrid: One More Major Deal on the Horizon – report

With the FIFA FairPlay rules kicking in this season most clubs are being much more careful about the way that they spend their money.

But with such a huge yearly turnover Real Madrid seem almost immune to counting the pennies. And the fact that they have such a big squad means that they will probably sell a couple of major stars as well this summer. So they don’t seem to be in too much danger of FIFA sanctions.

And even though they have spent so much money on James Rodriguez and Tony Kroos this summer – both sensational signings – you do you get the sense that their business hasn’t yet finished.

If they do go back into the market then we think it will be for Radamel Falcao of Monaco. Karim Benzema is a top player but if you could improve that front four at Real Madrid then swapping out Benzema for Falcao would probably do the trick.

English media outlet The Independent this week speculated about a move for the player:

Radamel Falcao to Real Madrid? Striker sparks frenzy in Spain by following Gareth Bale, Isco and Sami Khedira on Instagram

Earlier this week, Monaco coach Leonardo Jardim could offer no assurances on the 28-year-old’s future, claiming that he is still a Monaco player “for now”.

And The Daily Mail today reports that Real Madrid are still hopeful of a deal for the Colombian:

Falcao has been the subject of a loan offer from Madrid who are concerned about proof of his recovery from cruciate surgery. The deal would be around £10m for the year with a view to a permanent deal next summer.

We do like Benzema but he does tend to go missing at times. The idea of combining the explosive and mercurial Falcao with Rodriguez at number 10 and Bale and Ronaldo either side is as exciting as it is unfair on the opposition.

We think that Real will push for this one if they feel that the player is fit. With him being out injured since January there are bound to be questions about his overall and long-term fitness.

But if he has recovered fully then we wouldn’t be at all surprised to see him in Real Madrid colours come September.

Let’s see Falcao in action. Real Madrid fans: is this one possible?
