Real Madrid: More World Class transfers planned this week – report

Despite signing both James Rodriguez and Toni Kroos during the summer, players who have improved their squad significantly, it appears that the current Champions League holders are not yet finished in the transfer market.

According to The Daily Star, the Spanish giants are preparing to launch dramatic moves to bring both Radamel Falcao and Marco Reus to Madrid before the end of the transfer window.

Reus would a direct replacement for Di Maria as he can both play centrally or on the flanks, providing plenty of cover for the likes of Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The German international has been in fantastic form for Borussia Dortmund since joining from Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2012. He has scored 42 times in all competitions in his two years at the club and helped them win the DLF-Supercup on two occasions and reach the Champions League final in 2013.

The 25-year-old was also named player of the season in the German Bundesliga in the 2011/12 season and provided the most assists in the league during the last campaign. With a mooted £25 million release clause in his contract, the Spanish side could land him relatively cheaply.

Falcao on the other hand has been a long-standing target for Real Madrid since his time at local rivals Atletico Madrid. He is one of the world’s most lethal strikers with a goal scoring record of 200 goals in 305 appearances at club level.

He suffered a serious injury last year that kept him out of the Monaco squad for most of the season but has already scored twice in his three games this year. The Colombian has been linked with a move away from the French side all summer with talks of possible loan deals at a number of top clubs.
