PICTURE: Real Madrid’s Best XI vs Liverpool

Injuries

Real Madrid have a massive week ahead of them and, until a few days ago, preparations seemed to be going perfectly.

But with Gareth Bale likely to miss the games against Liverpool and Barcelona, and Sergio Ramos also a doubt, Real Madrid have couple of worries. Karim Benzema has also been struggling but we think he will be OK.

In truth Madrid have an imperious squad and both players can be replaced by top stars in their own right.

We would pop James Rodriguez out on the right to replace Bale and bring the excellent Isco into the hole. It’s not ideal but they are pretty strong options to have.

At the back Real Madrid also have a superb alternative to Ramos in the shape of Raphael Varane. He’s been playing really well this season when called upon.

So, while the momentum of the team may be slowed to a degree by these changes they still have more than enough to go to a stuttering Liverpool side a get three points. The hosts certainly won’t make it easy however – they are a top side when on form – and Real Madrid would probably take a draw and no further injuries, with the small matter of El Classico just around the corner.

Here is our strongest XI for what should be a really entertaining encounter. Real Madrid fans: discuss
