PICTURE: Manchester City’s Very Best XI with everyone fit

Sensational

Much of the title talk this season has been about how Chelsea are going to run away with it. We too have been very impressed with the way that the Stamford Bridge outfit have settled so quickly. But as neutral onlookers we still believe that, on song, Manchester City are the most frightening team in the league.

And they too are close to having a settled team. Toure has been criticised and Mangala is still finding his feet (and, on occasion, his own net) but in the game against Aston Villa Manchester City were beginning to resemble their old selves – a team that it’s literally impossible to get the ball off.

Starting with the goalkeeper we have always been staunch supporters of Joe Hart and he gets our nod between the sticks. Clichy is kept on his toes by Kolarov but has marginally more pace and mobility. On the right City have a ridiculously good duo of Zabaleta and Sagna. The Argentine keeps his place for now. And alongside the best central defender in the league, Eliaquim Mangala just needs games – he will be an absolute rock for City.

In front of them it has to be Fernandinho and Toure although Fernando may well sneak in ahead of the former in time.

We are big fans of Jesus Navas but it’s difficult to look past Silva and Nasri when everyone is fit. We also think that the pace of Navas can be a devastating weapon off the bench when opposition legs are tiring after 70 minutes.

Up top it has to be Aguero in behind the megalithic Edin Dzeko. Stevan Jovetic looks like a really interesting player but the other two are in good form and few players in the world would take Aguero’s place.

So there you have it. When this lot are fit you can be sure that they will go close to retaining their title. Manchester City fans: let’s have your thoughts.
