Momentum

Everton have injury problems in the shape of Brian Oviedo, John Stones, Kevin Mirallas and Arouna Kone. But these injuries are more than offset by the return of Coleman and Barkley who have given this team its edge back in the last couple of games.

Barkley is now at the point where he can start games every week and he will be one of the first names on the team sheet of Roberto Martinez.

The other player who is impossible to ignore right now is Samuel Eto’o whose brace last weekend set The Premier League alight. He will need to be managed carefully at his age (whatever that is), to keep him fresh and sharp, but he has to play on this form. Everton FC should be a meritocracy after all.

Eto’o played brilliantly in the hole last weekend but we would pop him up top with Lukaku wide. This allows Ross Barkley to play behind the striker where he can cause all sorts of damage. For all his good form, Naismith misses out. Sorry pal.

Other than that the side has a very settled look and the full backs continue to be the most productive in the division.

So here’s our strongest XI for the tricky but eminently winnable test against Swansea.
