PICTURE: Barcelona’s Strongest XI and injury update vs Eibar

Barca Eibar

Exciting times

These are extremely exciting times to be a Barcelona fan. Of course there is the small matter of a Champions League fixture next week against Ajax, plus the match against Eibar this weekend.

But all eyes already appear to be on El Classico and the potential debut of one luis Suarez next weekend.

Barcelona boss Jose Enrique has probably banned such talk however. A defeat this weekend would be a unfathomable and he won’t want complacency creeping in. Eibar have had a decent start with 2 wins and 3 draws since their promotion to the top division. They are certainly enjoying themselves and sit 9th in the table.

As we know Barcelona have been superb in the league so far this season as the latest youth products have done fantastic jobs in the formative months.

And the great news for Barcelona is that, aside from the injured Douglas Pereira, the full squad trained on Thursday ahead of the weekend fixture. That means that Rafinha and Thomas Vermaelen were both fit to resume full training.

While one or both may make the bench for the weekend fixture we can’t imagine either starting so soon after injuries.

So here is our predicted 11 for the match. Barcelona fans: are we agreed on this?
