Win

Arse vs SwHow the Dickens did that happen? We have to admit that when Arsenal went two up against Anderlecht we flicked over to Real Madrid against The Pool, assuming that the game at The Emirates would slowly fizzle out.

But, somehow, Arsenal blew a three goal lead and left themselves requiring another point just to qualify for the knockout stages. Top spot now seems like a pipe dream.

This will leave Arsenal even more hellbent on a result this weekend in a tricky away fixture with a buoyant Swansea side. Many expected Swansea to seriously struggle this season. They may still do so but they look anything but relegation fodder under the tutelage of Garry Monk.

Arsenal will need to be on top of their game to get a result. But with the players available we expect them to take the points.

Theo Walcott has found his way to the subs bench but it’s still too early to start him. He should be hopeful of minutes on Sunday however (Kick Off 16:00 local time).

But Alex Oxlade Chamberlain is in fine form and needs game time at this point if he is to fulfil all that potential.

So a front line of Sanchez, Welbeck and Ox is surely a no-brainer. Aaron Ramsey should continue in a deeper role alongside Flamini in the absence of Arteta (possible hamstring) and Jack Wilshere who should be fit again next week after illness.

So here’s our XI for Arsenal’s game vs Swansea – discuss

I personally would like to see Wenger shake things up. I really want to see Chambers played as a defensive midfielder. While Flamini started the second part of his Arsenal career well, he has become a liability this season. I see Ramsey as much more of an offensive player. He pushes forward and tries to get involved in the scoring; which is what he is good at. Chambers can actually defend and has the physical attributes to play that position well. If you are going to start Monreal as a CB then I’d play Bellerin on the right. I mean, this could be tried and may not work, but it could not be worse than it has been. I am just of the opinion that if your defense is already average, then at least have some protection in front of them.
