Newcastle: Yet more major arrivals imminent – report

Two more nor arrivals?

So now that Newcastle have finally got their summer transfer business kicked off it seems that the floodgates are well and truly open.

Tenerife striker Ayoze Perez came in and that was followed by the superb addition of Remy Cabella for £12 million last week.

These two have really given Newcastle fans something to smile about – but they don’t look as if they’re going to stop there.

After a disastrous end to the season Alan Pardew would’ve been desperate to get to the summer with the Newcastle job still in his hands.

And after surviving beyond May you feel that Pardew will be pulling out all the stops in the transfer market and that there will be more serious investment to come. Because it simply wasn’t good enough at the back end of the last campaign – not even close.

The Guardianhttp://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/jul/16/football-transfer-rumours-liverpool-swansea-ben-davies today suggests that the third signing of the summer will be the nearly completed deal for Emmanuel Riviere and the fourth will be the much sought after young defender Alexandre Lacazette.

Monaco’s Emmanuel Riviere is set to become Newcastle’s third new signing in a week. The fourth will be Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette.

Newcastle seriously need more firepower after drawing blanks at the end of last season and Riviera is a live wire addition. He’s played all his career in France and scored at a decent rate – especially in the last couple of years. At 24 he’s promising addition to the squad.

As for Lacazette, he’s of a similar profile but has already achieved a couple of caps for France and, at 23, he’s scored 38 and assisted 28 in 135 games for Lyon, who he joined as a junior.

Let’s take a look at them both in action. Newcastle fans: pleased with these potential additions or do you need much more?

Lacazette is a striker not a “young defender”.
And no mention of the imminent incoming signing of Janmaat. In fact you forgot our second signing – Jack Colback from Sunderland.
Anything else you care to get wrong?

You also forgot to mention De Jong who scored a fantastic goal last night in our friendly versus Fulham!

So far I’m not impressed, comparing them with the signings of clubs with ambition, they are for the most part not top quality.
The usual cheapo’s, apart from Cabella, who will be gone by this time next year, along with anyone who can be sold for a profit.
As long as we have an owner who’s only interest is to use the side and ground as an advertising adjunct to SD, plus who’s ambition is to maintain PL membership, while attempting to make a profit in the same manner as his retail business, buy cheap-sell for a profit.
Add a manager,( possibly the worst in the league) and you have a recipe for mediocrity.
I see no reason for any celebration, as signings are well overdue and the only reason for for them is the fear of relegation.

You Sir are a negative and impetuous idiot. Stop being negative and start looking on the bright side. We have made 6 signings. 6 which are quality signings. This is a big step for us and in total we have spent around 30 million pounds this transfer window. Stop downgrading the historic football club and start actually supporting it. Buffoon.
