LvG to do a Robben on Manchester United star?

Nani: Frighteningly good but not very often

Get rid

Portuguese newspaper A Bola reports Thursday on two of its countrymen and their uncertain futures at Manchester United.

Bebe has been on loan for the last two seasons and has done pretty well at his various clubs.

We actually think that despite his signing being generally seen as a huge gaff by Manchester United, that LvG may see some potential in the lad.

He’s got great feet and seems to be maturing after looking a bit of his depth in his time at Old Trafford.

A Bola reports that he and Nani are likely to both be on Manchester United’s pre-season tour to America in what should be a make or break few weeks for the pair.

Nani has flickered so brightly at times during his long Manchester United career but never found the sort of consistency that would catapult him to star status.

But the arrival of LvG might actually save his career because the Dutch manager will probably want to have a look at his whole squad at first hand before making a decision about who to keep and discard.

David Moyes and Sir Alex Ferguson would surely have run out of patience with the player by now and sold him this summer. But if Nani does give a good account of himself in pre-season LvG might decide to turn his hand to channelling the player’s and undoubted skill into something with a more consistent end product.

Van Gaal transformed Arjen Robben when he managed Bayern and perhaps he can turn water into wine with Nani too. Perhaps…

You might find it strange but, if we had to keep one of these guys at Manchester United, we’d give Bebe another try and get rid of Nani.

At 27 years old Nani has had more than enough time to prove himself at Manchester United and we think it’s time for a change of scenery.

Let’s have a look at Bebe in action. Manchester United fans: worth keeping?
