Manchester United: 78 cap International Flyer may finally transfer
A Bola reported Friday on the uncertain status quo surrounding Manchester United winger Nani.
The Portuguese player has given some typically inconsistent performances at The World Cup, flitting between brilliance and profligacy like a pendulum, and many Manchester United fans believe it’s time for him to make a fresh start somewhere else.
A Bola says:
After the World for Portugal, various players seek to define their future and one of them is Nani, who admits he may leave Manchester United. “I am a Manchester United player but I have other options.”
The Manchester Evening News has also reported on the possible exit of the star:
The 27-year-old is under contract with the Reds until June 2018 but Arsenal have reportedly joined Inter Milan, Juventus and Benfica in the hunt for his services.
At 27 years, and with 78 caps for Portugal, of age the Manchester United forward has a good four or five years left in the tank. It just seems as if he needs that change of scenery to rediscover the form that he was showing towards the beginning of his time at Manchester United.
When he joined the club in 2007 he looked as if he might become a world-beater along the same lines as Cristiano Ronaldo.
But his last season at the club, in particular, was abject as Nani hardly figured for Manchester United due to injury and poor form. When he did play he seemed completely off the pace.
His capacity for ingenuity is greater than most of his peers but he simply doesn’t deliver on a regular basis. We have always opined that the Manchester United winger has all the physical attributes – pace, power and quick feet – to be a top player, but he doesn’t possess a top football brain to allow him to make the most of his talents. Therefore we see more mis-placed 5 yards passes than we do 30 yard screamers these days.
Let’s have a look at some of his best moments for the club. Manchester United fans: should Nani get one more chance under Louis van Gaal?
