Chelsea

Mourinho’s biggest hint yet about a January signing?

Falcao: Poor

Will Chelsea buy the big man in Jan?

Jose Mourinho is a nice guy but wouldn’t have got where he is today without that ruthless streak. Chelsea need whipping into shape and Jose Mourinho is most certainly the man to do it.

The team looks pretty decent but their problem all season has been a lack of killer instinct in front of goal. The Chelsea manager spoke to Chelsea TV about this. He said:

“Missing goals. It’s always the same words,” Mourinho told Chelsea TV. “It’s unbelievable.

“Even on the bench, I feel every time we miss a chance and the score is 0-0, 1-0, 2-1, 1-1, I feel the pressure. I feel that missing the chances, maybe later you are punished. We have this problem.

We believe that this is another way of saying that Roman Abramovich needs to put is hand in his massive pocket once more to buy Chelsea another striker.

Fernando Torres has improved since The Special One came in but he’s still not scoring the goals that you would expect from one of Europe’s best. Demba Ba is not in Mourinho’s thoughts. Meanwhile Samuel Eto’o hasn’t quite done the business since he came to Chelsea.

So January will possibly see the signing of a big striker at Chelsea. We know it’s a hard window to buy in real quality. But Mourinho looks exasperated by his current crop and we wouldn’t be at all surprised if a big-money striker came through the doors.

Radamel Falcao has persistently been linked with the club even though he recently signed for Monaco. Chelsea has been a bit of a strikers graveyard for big signings in the last five or so years, with Shevchenko and Torres both looking like ghosts after a couple of years at The Bridge.

But we believe that Falcao would be a fantastic player for Chelsea and potentially the last piece in the jigsaw – a striker who would give them the ruthless edge which they are arguably lacking.

If Chelsea don’t buy a stellar striker in January then they most certainly will in the summer. But don’t be surprised if the back pages are flooded with news of a mega-bucks transfer at Chelsea next month.
