Man U

Manchester United’s new No.7?

Surely

It is an amazing situation, and one which is indicative of the current period of transition at Manchester United, that the team is without currently without a number 3,5,7,9, 11 or 15.

Of course, current players will fill some of those jerseys before the season starts.

New boy Ander Herrera was given the number 21 shirt for his debut against The LA Galaxy – the same shirt numbers he had at Bilbao.

Looking at his debut performance you would have to say that his talent befits the number 7 but it seems that he will stick with the 21.

So perhaps the number seven shirt is being kept on ice for the potential arrival of the brilliant Arturo Vidal.

Reports yesterday suggested that a new bid had gone in for the player and we think that Vidal could be the rightful successor to the throne of players like Bryan Robson.

Manchester United have also had number 7s with more attacking instincts, like Beckham, Ronaldo and Owen as well but it looks as if the next tenant could be more on the combative side of things.

Manchester United are desperate for a holding midfielder and the game against The Galaxy only highlighted that fact. Fletcher gave a really decent performance but Cleverley was a typically low key introduction after half-time and a real personality is required for that spot in the team.

It’s been a drawn out pursuit already and the player seems uncertain where his future lies. There have even been quotes which suggest he’s not coming to United.

But let’s wait for an official conclusion before we discount the move completely, in what will continue to be a roller coaster summer in the market.

Other teams will clearly be interested after The World Cup that Vidal had so Manchester United are really going to have to pull their fingers out on this one.

If that deal does fall through the only other potentially available player who can aspire to the same sort of calibre as Vidal in the current market is Kevin Strootman of Roma. He has begun training again after a serious injury and looks like the other favourite to wear the number seven jersey next season.

But let’s see some more Vidal magic. Manchester United fans: is this now an urgent signing for the club?

Di Maria should be the man for this number if possible, but according to some reports says that the lad wants to play the UCL which Man United is not perticipating in the next coming challange, too bad about that.

I can see Tebez’s frustration. For the fact that he went away from united not satisfied does not mean that any other player will suffer the same fate. Advising vidal wrongly is very unsportmanlike. Afterall since he left united, the club has moved on. Therefore, if vidal believe in his agent, he should be able to seek greener pasture. Vidal should stop listening to wrong advise as in the case of Tebez if actually believe in himself. He should go and prove himself at man utd. Afterall Monaco did’nt qualify for champions league when they recruited so many quality players last season. My candid opinion to man utd is; if the club is interested in vidal or any good player, they should go ahead and get the play and stop contemplating all the time. The club should not forget what happened in the case of Ozil and they should be careful. Herrare was a good signing, while ‘am advising man utd should go for Nocoli Gaitan that has been followed right from the days of Ferguson. A club should have more quality players at any given time in which to make selections at any given time. man utd for live

tevez is just being jealous coz when he was at MUT he was just too rud and very inresponsible, well he was a very good player but sir Alex see him being toooooooooooooooo rud to the club, management, and to the fans,i know too well vidal can never b like dat vidal is very cool headed young man that every couch would like to have.even tevex does not have any respect for his formal clubs both manchesters and his home country,so,PLS VIDAL ANY WHERE YOU ARE accept the offer,we will love you and respect ur personality,MAN UNITED will give you the best ,don’t listen to tevex, he has a very bad attitud to our liken.pls come we are waiting for you.

If Vidal’s move seems impossible, Koke of athletico Madrid is equally a good player who can keep the midfield dream. We also need de vrij n hammels to make a complete team

Vidal transfer wont happen. The player and his agent have said he will not move to manchester. Unfortunatly, it looks like SAF horrific underinvestment in midfield has finally caught up. Before Harerra (who is average at best) the three previous central midfield signings have been Fellani, Anderson and Hardgrieves. Three players in that position over 10 years is the biggest under investment is a key position as i have ever seen! Its like not bothering with a Goal Keepers because ‘Wayne’s not bad at catching’. DM payed the price for SAF’s ignorance, I just hope LVG’s reputation isnt too badly damaged when he scuttles off to Spain at the end of the season.

My fellow man utd fans pls stop westing ur time posting dis nd dat coz man utd dnt hv maketing manager bcoz he dnt knw his work and united are not ready to buy players. Edwood wad is nt d right person to take man utd forward in terms of bringing good and top players to the club, many fans will undstnd this in d coming time. Edwood wad did thesame thing when moyes was apointed as united manager last year up to deadline day without signing any body, in dt 9t with d help of moyes nt edwood wad we end of signing flop midfielder fellaini for 27.1m nd end of doing nothing in the midfield. Believe me my fellow fans united most sack edwood wad nd bring responsible candidate 4 dt position to take united forward. Up united.

I think Edwoodward is united problem right now, because he is not decisive enough to deside fast signing.

    Jul 25, 2014 at 7:14 pm

actually i think fetting bastian schweinsteiger[20mill] ,dejong [10mill] ,and carvarlho [25mill] makes better sense for our club ,one is a world cup winner with champions lueage to add , the other with bags of experience and power , and the last one is with so much potential ,he reminds me of vincent company with great ball distrabiution,,,they can all be brought within budget and when january comes,,,,get strootman,,,the year after that,,carrick and fletcher can retire, cleverly sold at a higher price and all of our problems solved,,,let liverpool waste a big chunk[50 mill] of their money on vidal,,,he has a knee problem and didn’t do that well in the world cup anyway…it’s risky to gamble so much on one player,,,remember owen hargreaves[knee],,if they have one and we got 3 exellent ball winners..i think i’ll choose the numbers rather than the individual…
