Manchester United’s £300m line up for next season?

Valais Cup 2013 - OM-FC Porto - 20130713 - Eliaquim Mangala

Big summer for Manchester United

Manchester United are going to buy big in the summer. I think we all know that. It’s their major stab at a return to the elite level that they are so used to inhabiting.

The fact is that even David Moyes doesn’t know exactly how his team will look come August – assuming he’s still managing Manchester United at that point. And with at least a few new names in the hat each day as potential arrivals at the club, it’s hard to decant who will actually sign for Manchester United this summer. But, thankfully, you have soccersweep on hand to make the prediction for you. So here is the team that we think could take to the field for the first fixture. Feel free to debate this one to the hilt.

Manchester United – 4-2-3-1

David De Gea – Gets better with each game. A world class player between the sticks. Like a cat with superglue on his hands. Manchester United must tie him down to a new deal or risk losing him to Spain. £18m

Luke Shaw – We have a sneaking feeling that Shaw may snub his boyhood team Chelsea and join the Manchester United revolution. Won’t be cheap but worth every penny. £30m

Eliaquim Mangala – This is the best case scenario unless Manchester United can convince the brilliant Geoffrey Kondogbia to the club after just one season at Monaco. Competition for his signature will force the price way up. £40m

Phil Jones – Improving all the time. We think that he can be a highly influential character at Manchester United. If he can avoid those hitherto regular injuries. £20m

Rafael da Silva – There has been talk of his departure but he’s a proper Manchester United player who will continue to improve – £3m

Ilkay Gundogan – A dynamo of a footballer who is equally good in advanced or defensive positions. We have him shielding the defence in a 4-2-3-1. £30m

William Carvalho – Young and highly skillful, this guy already plays the game with the nonchalance of a world class veteran. Will play alongside Gundogan in the ‘2’. £35m

Andros Townsend – He’s mesmeric with the ball at his feet, running at pace. Would really suit Manchester United’s style and add much needed speed. £30m

Mata – surely has to play at No.10 next season. What does this mean for RvP and Rooney? £37m

Lucas Moura – The Brazilian in still not getting enough game time at PSG and Manchester United need pace and trickery out wide. Top player. £35m

Rooney – Could well play up top next season. Especially if RvP leaves.£30m

Total – £298m

Load of nonsense……..Mangala’s going to City and Lescott’s coming in…..Darron Gibson is coming back to join Fellaini in the centre of midfield and up front we will have Tim Cahill up front……Ashley Young and Tom Cleverley will be offered longer contracts and Woodward will sign another couple of Tyre deals…..Welcome to Moyes vision of the future…..A vision that will have Fagin and his artful dodgers full of glee as he saves on all that cash……Please refer to Moyes transfer dealings at Everton…..This man is a bluffer!

I agree with that team apart from the wingers. No chance in signing lucas and townsend is overrated. I myself would rather see kagawa behind rooney, mata on the right and say draxler on the left. All playing rather narrow and swapping positions. Would be different style of play but would be very deadly
