Manchester United: Worldie agrees Deal – report

In a rather bizarre turn of events, reports on Wednesday suggest that Manchester United legend Patrice Evra has agreed a deal to join Juventus this summer. The Express says:

MANCHESTER UNITED’S hopes of signing Arturo Vidal from Juventus increased last night when Patrice Evra agreed to join the Italian giants.

Evra only just signed a one-year contract extension at Manchester United and the assumption was that he would stay and mentor the arriving Luke Shaw.

But the player may have been guaranteed first-team action at Juventus – an assurance that can’t be given at Manchester United with the new boy coming in.

This could be why we have seen recent reports which suggest that Manchester United will pursue left back Ricardo Rodriguez this summer.

If Manchester United are interested in signing Arturo Vidal, as is being widely speculated, then they should definitely think about using Evra as part of the deal. Along with other reported Juventus target Nani these two could provide an excellent sweetener to bring the unbelievably good Chilean midfielder to Manchester United.

We do believe that Patrice Evra still has a lot to give to Manchester United and they could use his experience next season – particularly as two titanic defenders have already left this summer.

Evra is a leader and really embodies the spirit of Manchester United. He’s been nothing short of world class at United but, barring injury, Luke Shaw will certainly play more games than the Frenchman next season and we can understand if he wants to move on.

Let’s have a look at some of the legend’s highlights at Manchester United.

United fans: would it be a bad move letting him go?
